Job Title: Associate Photographer / Videographer
Summary of Position: The Associate Photographer is responsible for the editing of work produced by Laura Metzler Photography, attendance, and assistance with large shoots that the principal photographer is shooting, and the shooting and editing of 4-8 of their own shoots per month. The expectations include: drive to further develop photography skills, team-player attitude, and readiness to work, learn and grow. The principal photographer will assist the associate photographers in their cultivation of photography skills and development of areas of expertise.
This position is local to the DMV area and will require 2-4 days per week on site in conjunction with wfh duties.
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in photography, marketing or creative field.
1-2 years experience in photography.
1 -2 years video experience. (Does not need to be professional experience).
Skilled in Lightroom, Photoshop and video editing softwares.
Has an understanding of studio lighting, including strobe and constant light sources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Editing 3-6 shoots per week shot by the principle photographer and delivering the edited photos to the principle photographer within the assigned time frame.
Shooting 3-8 photo and/or video shoots per month and editing those shots to be delivered on deadline.
Communicating with clients to schedule and plan for your shoots.
Assistance in outreach to potential clients, this includes pitching yourself as a Laura Metzler Photography team member and booking shoots for yourself with the assistance of the principle photographer and/or the operations manager.
Assisting the Principal Photographer with her shoots, being the point of contact for clients on set, running necessary errands, and helping with set up as well as tear down of the shoots.
Capturing behind the scenes images and videos at the team shoots as well as creating team content to share on social channels and brand marketing.
